Project Description

This Project was the construction of a 1700 m2 purpose built retail showroom for our client on behalf of JB HiFi for their new JB Hi-Fi Home store. Originally designed to utilise tilt up panel construction, the construction methodology was changed to use offsite manufactured precast concrete panels. This allowed for us to provide a retail ‘burnished finish’ slab and shorten the project timeframe to 24 weeks,
6 weeks ahead of schedule.

Initial works commenced with bulk excavation works and the pouring of footings and dead man anchors for panels. To maintain an efficient project timeframe, precast concrete panels were concurrently delivered to site ready for erection. Works followed on with erection of precast panels
and structural steel followed by installation of external wall linings, windows and roof coverings. This methodology provided an internal area enclosed from the weather to allow continuation for pouring
the concrete slab and  commencing the internal fitout, eliminating any delays due to inclement weather.

The internal fitout was complete with construction of new bathrooms, amenities and office areas, partition walls to split showroom and storage areas, lining of all walls with MDF, painting, lighting, fixtures, ceilings and air conditioning. All services and components were installed to JB HiFi requirements to ensure minimal fitout work was required for JB HiFi to commence operating.

Externally works were completed with lining of the facades with CFC and Colorbond, construction of a new carpark complete with kerbing and line marking, installation of poured exposed aggregate paving and soft landscaping Good planning, organisation and site management during the establishment and construction phase gave us the ability to complete this project ahead of schedule whilst maintaining a high quality finish, providing JB HiFi early possession with no defects.
